Southeast Environmental Justice Champion Award

In honor of Environmental Justice advocates throughout the Southeast (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Tribes located within these States) the Florida Brownfields Association is seeking nominations for the 2019 Southeast Regional Environmental Justice Champion.

Criteria for Consideration

Awards are determined based on how the nominee has contributed to positive strides in Environmental Justice within the southeast including but not limited to the following criteria:

• Environmental Justice – Advocacy, leadership or model project development or participation
• Environmental Justice agency or organization leadership or advocacy
• Environmental Justice policy development and or implementation
• On the ground environmental or public health improvements within environmental justice and under served communities
• EJ grass roots initiatives from commencement to fruition that made a major impact.
• EJ Historian, someone who has been involved in the EJ field for more than 25 years and has a proven track record of results.
