FBA announces 2019 Southeast Regional Conference agenda

Tallahassee, Fla. -- The Florida Brownfields Association (FBA) released the agenda for the upcoming 2019 Southeast Regional Conference. The keynote speaker is Mary Walker, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regional administrator. Attendees will choose from three simultaneous presentation tracks. Breakout sessions will be held in the afternoons. The EPA will organize and host a Region IV Brownfield Grantee Workshop at the conference. The full agenda can be accessed on the FBA website. 

Presentations will follow five discussion topics.

  • Lessons learned, successes, and lifecycle
  • Funding and incentives
  • Emerging contaminants of concern
  • Environmental justice
  • Innovations

The conference is a meeting of brownfields professionals from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and the Carolinas, who rotate hosting the annual event. This year, it will be held on Oct. 27-30, 2019, in Orlando, Fla. Registration is going on now.

The FBA is a non-profit, volunteer, service organization dedicated to advancing the cleanup, redevelopment, and re-use of Brownfields in Florida. Working in cooperation with state and federal agency partners, the FBA is a group of environmental stakeholders and professionals who provide Brownfields information, assistance, clean-up, and redevelopment strategies to communities and the public in the interest of cleaning up and redeveloping contaminated properties and revitalizing areas in Florida.
